Our story

Helmet on, heads up

Sparta Belfast was founded in 2010 by a group of friends who wanted football faster — five-a-side, indoors, all skill and no hiding. The Spartan helmet on our crest stands for the way we play: organised, relentless, together.

Today we're NIFF Super League champions and Foundation Shield winners — and in 2024 we became the first Northern Irish futsal club to win a match in the UEFA Futsal Champions League. 120+ members now play across the senior side and the academy.

Our history

2010

The club is born

Founded by a group of friends chasing faster football on the indoor courts of Belfast.

2015

Into the Super League

Promotion to the NIFF Super League, the top flight of Northern Irish futsal.

2019

First league title

A first NIFF Super League crown, sealed on the final night.

2021

Foundation Shield winners

Sparta lift the Irish FA Foundation Shield.

2023

Academy launches

The youth academy opens — a pathway from age six to the senior squad.

2024

History in Europe

The first Northern Irish futsal club to win a match in the UEFA Futsal Champions League.

2025

Top of the table

Sitting top again, with 120+ members across the senior side and academy.
